heres the official review of the gig by the BBC:
The packed out venue of Rock City, full of 14-20 year olds with the odd 35 year old dressed in drag. HIM the metal band from Finland with a larger fanbase than most commercial bands, casually walk on stage unfazed by the emence support. Ville Valo with a 'best dressed male' award under his belt turns out in a rather under-dressed Viking Skull shirt.
It was obvious by the first song, Soul On Fire, that all was not well on the technical side though and throughout the show Valo's voice was on the quiet side. Little action was on stage but it was rather amusing to see after every song, the lights dim out and a single spot light shining on Valo as he babbles away with the audience as they throw a range of things on stage, reminded me of an amateur comedy night.
They played the all time favourites such as Wicked Game, Sweet 666, The Sacarament, Funeral of Hearts and as the last passion brimmed tune, Buried Alive By Love. A satisfactory night in all, would love to see them again.
